O sing unto the Lord a new song
O sing unto the Lord a new song:
for he that done marvellous things.
With his own right hand and with his holy arm
hath he gotten himself the victory.
The Lord declares his salvation:
his righteousness hath he openly showed in the sight of the heathen.
He hath remembered his mercy and truth toward the house of Israel:
and all the ends of the world hath seen the salvation of our God.
Show yourselves joyful unto the Lord all ye lands:
Sing, rejoice, and give thanks.
Text: Psalm 98 1-5
Music: Noel de Jongh b.1930
Processional Hymn
All my hope on God is founded;
all my trust he will renew.
safe through change and chance he guides me,
only good and only true.
God unknown,
he alone
calls my heart to be his own.
Human pride and earthly glory,
sword and crown betray God’s trust;
though with care and toil we build them,
tower and temple fall to dust.
But God's power,
hour by hour,
is my temple and my tower.
God's great goodness lasts for ever,
deep his wisdom, passing thought:
splendour, light, and life attend him,
beauty springing out of naught.
Evermore,
from his store
new-born worlds rise and adore.
Day by day the mighty Giver
Showers gifts on us below;
his desire our souls delight in,
pleasure leads us where we go.
See love stand
at his hand;
joy awaits at his command!
Still from earth to God in heaven
sacrifice of praise be done,
high above all praises praising
for the gift of Christ his Son.
Hear Christ call
one and all:
those who follow shall not fall.
Text: Robert Bridges 1844-1930 based on Joachim Neander 1650-1680
Music: Michael CH4 192 Herbert Howells 1892-1983
Invitation
Confession
Eternal Saviour, you have called us into a Kingdom where all the peoples of the earth are welcome to feast in harmony and everlasting joy. As a church, widen our arms so that none may be excluded from the embrace of your eternal love. Open our hearts to warmly respond to those we might be inclined to avoid. Open our eyes to see the fullness of your high calling for us. In your name, we pray. Amen.

Metrical Psalm
The Lord's my light and saving health,
who shall make me dismayed?
My life's strength is the Lord, of whom
then shall I be afraid?
When as mine enemies and foes,
most wicked persons all,
to eat my flesh against me rose,
they stumbled and did fall.
Against me though an host encamp,
my heart yet fearless is:
though war against me rise, I will
be confident in this.
One thing I of the Lord desired,
and will seek to obtain,
that all days of my life I may
within God's house remain.

The Gospel St John 2 1-11
The Sermon
The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, dead, and buried:
He descended into hell;
The third day he rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost;
The Holy Catholic Church;
The Communion of Saints;
The Forgiveness of sins;
The Resurrection of the body,
And the Life everlasting.
The Offering
The Intercessions
Gloria in Excelsis sung by the choir
Glory be to God on high, and in earth peace, goodwill towards men. We praise thee, we bless thee, we worship thee, we glorify thee, we give thanks to thee for thy great glory, O Lord God, heavenly King, God the Father Almighty.
O Lord, the only-begotten Son Jesu Christ; O Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, that takest away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us. Thou that takest away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us. Thou that takest away the sins of the world, receive our prayer. Thou that sittest at the right hand of God the Father, have mercy upon us.
For thou only art holy; thou only art the Lord; thou only, O Christ, with the Holy Ghost, art most high in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
Missa brevis William Walton
Thanksgiving
The Lord be with you
And also with you
Lift up your hearts
We lift them to the Lord
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God
It is right to give our thanks and praise
Prayer
Sanctus
Holy, holy, holy,
Lord God of Hosts,
Heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Glory be to you, O Lord Most High.
Blessed is he that comes in the Name of the Lord:
Hosanna in the highest.
Prayer
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done, in earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever.
Agnus Dei
Lamb of God, that takes away the sin of the world,
Have mercy upon us.
Lamb of God, that takes away the sin of the world,
Have mercy upon us.
Lamb of God, that takes away the sin of the world,
Grant us your peace.
Holy Communion
During Communion the Choir sings
O magnum mysterium
O great mystery and wonderful sacrament
That even the animals saw the new-born Lord
Lying in a manger
Blessed Virgin, whose womb was worthy to bear
Our Lord Christ
Hail Mary, full of grace,
The Lord is with you
Music: William Byrd 1539/40-1623
Prayer
Hymn
Come, all who look to God today,
stretch out your hands, enlarge your mind,
together share his living way
where all who humbly seek will find.
Come, young and old from every faith,
bring all your treasuries of prayer,
and seek the living Spirit’s breath
to realise the truths we share
Bring your traditions' richest store,
your hymns and rites and cherished creeds;
explore our visions, pray for more,
since God delights to meet fresh needs.
Come, trust in Christ and live in peace,
anticipate that final light
when strife and bigotry shall cease,
and faith be lost in praise and sight. Amen
