April 2022 Events Diary

Until Friday 8th, daily
Burns and Beyond – Michael Pendry’s Les Colombes
Following a series of stunning installations in recent years for Burns&Beyond at St. Giles’ Cathedral, we are thrilled to welcome German artist Michael Pendry to Scotland for his first installation with the beautiful Les Colombes (The Doves), a winding column of more than 2,500 origami paper doves which will fly the full length of the cathedral. Symbolizing love, hope and kindness, the doves encourage a feeling of optimism as we reflect on years past and look ahead into 2022.

The Passion – A Series of Drawings
Jane Couroussopoulos Artist
This series of 12 drawings depicts the story of The Passion of Christ – events that begin with the Last Supper, and end with the Entombment. The drawings are made using graphite, oil bar, oil pastel, and collage. Based on passages from all four of the Gospels, each extraordinary event is presented as a still life of ordinary objects. The exhibition will be on display in the East End of the Cathedral daily through Easter until the start of May.
