St Giles’ Cathedral wouldn’t be what it is today without the help of our supporters, staff and volunteers. There are many ways to get involved:
Become a volunteer guide
St Giles’ Cathedral is looking for enthusiastic and friendly people to join our team of volunteers. Volunteers at St Giles’ aim to provide visitors with a warm and welcoming atmosphere by offering a high quality experience, encouraging visitors to explore and learn about the remarkable history of the building. There are a number of roles our volunteers can take on, whether its welcoming visitors at the Information Desk or guiding within the main body of the church. To express an interest in volunteering, please email email@example.com for more information.
Join our choir
The Choir of St Giles’ Cathedral is an adult choir of thirty singers drawn from a wide variety of walks of life from the City of Edinburgh and further afield. Their main task is the singing of the two Sunday morning choral services, the 10 o’clock Holy Communion and the 11.30 Morning Service. Find out more on our Choir page.
Become a Friend of the Music
The Friends of the Music is a registered charity which exists to support and promote the musical activities associated with St Giles’ Cathedral. By becoming a member of the Friends of the Music you will greatly assist in our work, and will help us to add to the possibilities that St Giles’ offers as a venue for first-class music making. Find out more about the Friends of the Music.
Set up in 1977, the Renewal Appeal’s aim was to finance the transformation of St Giles’. With grants and donations large and small from funding organisations, trusts, businesses and private individuals, this major project was undertaken to renew the fabric and interior of the Cathedral.
