Another photo of St Giles’ as it used to be. This picture is of the Moray Aisle prior to the recent restoration works to make the Cathedral more open. The wooden screen in the photo is now in the museum (https://www.nms.ac.uk/explore-our-collections/collection-search-results/?item_id=226884). You can still see the pulpit in situ and the eagle lectern is now in the sanctuary.
In the background, you can see the banners of the Knights of the Order of the Thistle. Note instead of hanging horizontally, as they do now, they point up diagonally.
