All credit to Valerie Moar for these wonderful models of St Giles’, where it looks like John Knox is chastising Mary, Queen of Scots in the royal pew. There are so many wonderful details to enjoy here, such as the storks in the crown steeple (until May 2020, the last pair of breeding storks in Britain were recorded here in 1416) or the angel font – ours is an exact replica of Danish neoclassical sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen’s font in the national Lutheran cathedral in Denmark. There is even some beautiful stained-glass windows, and a studious monk up in the bell tower!
