Duke University Chapel Choir

Founded in 1932, the Duke University Chapel Choir conducted by Dr. Zebulon M. Highben is the oldest established musical ensemble at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, USA. The Chapel Choir’s critically acclaimed performances of Handel’s Messiah have been an Advent tradition at Duke since 1933. Its spring oratorio concerts have featured other major works performed with professional orchestra. Recent concerts have included Bach’s St. Matthew Passion, Fauré’s Requiem, Haydn’s Missa in Angustiis, MacMillan’s St. Luke Passion, and Vaughan Williams’ Dona nobis pacem. The Chapel Choir has toured extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia, and has performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine (New York), St. Martin-in-the-Fields (London), the Thomaskirche (Leipzig), and Washington National Cathedral. This year, they embark on their 2023 concert tour of Ireland and Scotland.
